What did Glycoleap’s dietitians on duty during the forum think?

It was exciting to be part of this wonderful event to raise awareness of diabetes and kidney disease. It was fantastic to be able to reach out to so many people who want to learn more about diabetes and also for us to learn from their experiences.

As a dietitian, it was cool being able to test blood sugar levels of different people. Usually, in the hospital or clinic, that’s the nurse’s role. I have a slight phobia of needles so it was a bit stressful at first but I overcame that and it was a fun day in the end.

It was interesting because we could ask some of the people who had higher readings what they ate for breakfast, or whether they forgot their medications; like an instant counselling session (although just a super brief one as there was a long queue!).

I enjoyed sharing about the Glyco app, and actually seeing them use it for the free trial while I was doing health coaching. And it was nice to see good blood glucose results for people who were anxious to know whether they had diabetes or not, and reassure their worries (although random blood glucose with fingerprick testing is not the gold standard test used so I still encouraged them to do health screening with a fasting test at the doctor’s clinic).

It’s always great and insightful to meet people face-to-face, learn more about challenges, health motivations and different attitudes towards diabetes.

It’s a privilege to get in touch with those at the event and share how GlycoLeap can help and hopefully make a positive difference in lives.

Glycoleap is eager to connect in person, to learn about concerns and goals, help gain a better understanding of yourself and provide support towards your health goals.
