Michael Tai, Manager, Innovation Program of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology
Our CEO Nawal Roy was part of a prestigious panel which consisted of various players in the digital healthcare space, including GalenGrowth, Southern University of Taiwan and NHCS-SingHealth.
“Digital Health will become a precursor to primary, secondary and tertiary care, either complementary or integrated”. He focused on the importance of targeting the pre-diabetic population in diabetes before they become actual diabetics. Holmusk is trying to address this problem using behaviour modification and lifestyle management through digital intervention.
The panel faced many pertinent questions from the audience, including whether doctors are open to digital transformations through analytics and data mining models. This was answered by Dr Yeo, who is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Cardiology at the National Heart Centre. He believes that while individual doctors are very excited by the prospect of data analytics, their concern would be respecting the privacy of patients which can be addressed by adhering to a certain confidentiality clause in order to keep the trust that patients have in their doctors.
